I have already got my talaq from my husband since January. I got married to a divorced man of 4 children.He divorced his first wife as she committed adultery. When I got married I was living in his house but he promised that he will move out of the house as he got my house renovated which was given to me by my father.His house and his business are both in a trust which belong to his children and first wife from his first marriage.He had to do a trust to secure his assets as he committed tax evasion . He renovated my house out of his own freewill and we moved to live in my house once the renovation was over. Once he got his civil divorce from his first wife he wanted me to marry him civilly as we were married religiously only. I opposed to this idea but proposed that I make a will to secure my asset then I would be willing to marry him. He did not agree and asked me to repay him back for the sum of money he invested in the house for renovation. One day while I was at work he took all his belongings in my house and moved to his house and also removed all the money and shares he had under my name. He told me since the house is not his he cant stay in it and if I want to stay with him in his house I should pay him all the money he invested in my house. Since I did not want to breakdown my marriage I accepted to take a loan and repay him back his money. In the meantime I rented my house and he accepted that I give him the rent instead of me taking a loan. He was also not in good terms with my parents and was not happy for me to go and visit my relatives as he said that my father should repay him his money. My sister married his bother and he was not in good terms with his bother either. In Jan2010 he kicked me out of his house and told me that my father broke our marrige. And gradully he returned all my belongings to my home. Under the pressure of my family I asked him to give me my talak which he accepted. I would like to know your islamic perspective on this matter. |
