Online books

Assalamualaikum Sheikh.

My question is about downloading books online, which is not free but someone uploaded it into telegram group...I didn't hack/break any rule to download this book,I didn't know whether the uploader who upload this book pirated or not(maybe he pirated or may not be,may be he have that book and distributing it by uploading it's pdf). I'm downloading these books for my own benefit to read it not for making money by distributing these books

I already taken a course which may some books to learn the material, and it's urgent to use that book because of exam is very close...if I choose to download these books online instead of paying for buying it physically because lack of time and money.is this considered as impressible in Islam (sunni hanafi fiqh)?

Comb while standing leads to debts

Assalam Alaikum wrwb

Mufti saab,

Please Answer to my question as I gone through with one post online regarding comb while standing.

In that post it's said as Moula Jaffar Sadiq Salatul Allah Alaih saying that any person does comb while standing will be always in debts. (Reference- Tehzeeb Aale Muhammad SAWS)

Is this kind of belief is true. If it's true then is there any hadees as a proof.

Please help me in answering this question.

Thanks

What does islam say about breastfeeding?

Assalamualaikum wr wb

I pray that Allah swt allows you to answer my questions. Please inform what is the ruling regarding a mother nursing her baby in islam?

Is it fard to exclusively nurse till 2 years? During this time are solids allowed? Should there be mutual consent from both mother and father when solids are introduced? What happens if the father feeds the baby without the mother knowing? Will there be sin upon the mother?

If the mothers co-wife has milk flowing while her youngest child is at the age of 5, is she allowed to be a wet nurse for a baby even if the mother is providing adequate milk? Is she allowed to nurse the baby with the fathers approval only?

If a woman falls pregnant during the time she is nursing is she allowed to continue nursing her baby to reach that 2 year mark? What happens if within those two years she also delivers the second baby? Does she continue nursing the first baby or is that milk exclusive to the second child?

Bookkeeping Firm

Salam Alaikum,

My name is Nour and I am a bookkeeper with my own firm. I recently got a client that makes and sells pork sausages. He wants to be setup in an accounting software and ongoing bookkeeping services. My question is if it is halal for me to service his business? If it isn't halal or is makrooh, is it allowed for me to contract the work out to another bookkeper while still being in contact with the client? I wouldn't make any profit from him, but I would protect the image of my business. My concern is since I already agreed to do the service, it will look bad for my business to turn him away. Please guide me on what to do.

Jazak Allahu Khair,

Can my wife restrict me from occasionally travelling for work?

 Asalam O Alikum,

I hope you are doing well. I have just completed my PhD and have been trying to secure a job, in this COVID affected hostile job market. I am being considered for a Postdoctoral research job which is outside of my country, and due to family obligations I have told the employer that I cannot permanently relocate outside my country. So we are in the middle of negotiations on some remote working solution. One possibility of remote working can be that initially I would go there for joining, bank account opening etc. and then I will probably need to go to the other country only if needed. Now my wife is saying that she does not allow me to travel and stay there for one week if my employer needs me. So my question is that can my wife restrict me from going away for work for short periods of time? can she prohibit me from joining a job which is halal.

Please guide me on this

JazakAllah Khair

E-commerce - Apparel Store

Assalamualaikum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatuhu,

I came to the US from India on an F-1 student visa and suffered an injury while studying in the US. I'm still recuperating from my injury but have to work to remain in status. I would like to start an online apparel store which will have men's thobe, salwar kameez, blazers, shoes, watches, etc., and women's Abayas, casual dresses, makeup and cosmetics, kids' clothes, shoes, etc.

I would like to add products of intimacy like perfumes, scented candles, chocolates, flowers, intimacy toys, lubricants, soft lights, soft pillows, link to nasheeds etc., with a caution consent and agreement that the customer is married or intends to engage in intimacy within the confines of marriage.

Is this permissible? Will my income be considered as compliant to the Islamic Law?

Please respond at your earliest convenience as I'm running out of time; and my speech is affected after my injury. Call will be a difficult option and email response will be greatly appreciated.

JazakAllah Khair,

There is interest( Riba) discussed in call for car sales or medical insurances etc. Is it permissible to do such job as I would be required to mention or transcribe all the details including interest information in summary. The data I provide will be used by the company to improve their customer service and sales. I would be paid per call i review.

Honoring decision of previous Ameer if the decision was unethical and unislamic

Assalam O Alekum

We are running an Islamic institutation that also has a small Madrasa. I will state the question in general terms in the interest of confidentiality. I will appreciate if you don't make the question public.

One of the teacher was going through a divorce in the court. She asked to temporarily reduce her salary to half of the actual amount until her case is settled in the court. She asked for a new contract with half of her salary to show it to the court. The case is settled and she recieved her share. The Ameer also agreed to withhold the salary and pay her a lump sum amount after the case is over and also, reinstate her salary back to the original salary. The issue was never discussed in the Shura, it was between Ameer and the Teacher.

Now the case is settled and she is asking for withheld money and reinstatment of the full salary. The question is do we honor the promise of the previous Ameer even if it  was cheating and fooling the system, he made the promise on behlaf of the institution. The current Ameer does not want to make any unjust decision and wants to have clean account regarding this issue on the day of Judgement

Please answer the following

Do we honor previous decision

If not, what is the best advise you have to handle this case

Am I at fault for my mother forcing me to get a riba based student loan and me accepting finally?

My mother emotionally blackmailed and threatened me into getting a student loan saying she didn't have money to pay for my college since I dropped many classes and I had autism so attending a working in and being accepted to a menial job was hard. I eventually was convinced, but later I found out if I cancelled the loan I could stop the accruing of interest and stop going to school and pay then come back to school. I did that then my mother told me I was not welcome at her house over the phone and I was in terror for about half an hour looking for someone to stay with, but eventually I called my mom and she changed her mind. I was traumatized. I thought I would be homeless. Later, she secretly got out a loan from the bank instead of the university, and I got mad but she didn't care. Later, years later, she apologized, and she is paying, and I may get a job soon. Is it my sin?

Hurmat Al Musaharah

I have repented and have not gotten the desire since being around them/interacting with them and I was wondering whether it is just the waswasa of shaytan or if it is hurmatul musaharah. Again I have looked but with hate in my heart of it. I do not want to or have an urge to as I know this is immoral and ignorant as a Muslim. But it happened intentionally. Is the hurma established as I have sincerely repented for this? Please give quick answers as it has bothered me greatly. Jzk

Unemployment Benefits permissible..?

Assalam alaykum,

With all respect, one thing I am very confused about how unemployment Benefits are different from insurance..?

There are percentage of ur salary deduction happened while you are working and if u lose job than they give u unemployment benefit..

Isn't is same scenario if u hit ur car than insurance will pay u damages or any other insurance scenario..

Purpose of question is not to chalange or debate, but I have less Ilm or no ilm. It's just want to know detail answer if possible. So if it's halal I can apply for it..

Always heard from ulama that insurance is not permissible, so question keep arising how unemployment benefits are permissible..?

How unemployment benefits differ from insurance..?

Seeing Rotten Fruit in a Garden (Dream Interpretation)

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarkatuhu

I pray this finds you well-

My mom recently had a dream in which my family and I and my aunt were in a field of fruit. She described it as a huge area with fruit trees that were full and vegetables that looked ripe and delicious. She said all the fruit looked full and beautiful. But whenever she would go and pick a fruit, it would be bad. She said she went around to different trees but with the same outcome. The fruit only looked incredible. Then we were at a field of mango trees and they were completely full with mangos that looked delicious and completely ripe. And the same thing would happen when it came to picking.

There was no istikhara done nor are we on the brink of making any important (grand) life decisions.

Shaving One's Beard to Fit a COVID-19 Mask

Dear Respected Mufti Sahab,

I am a doctor working amidst the Coronavirus  covid 19 crisis that is amongst us during these days. The CDC recommends wearing N95 masks for doing certain procedures as a doctor. N95 masks requires one to be fit-tested to ensure there is no air leak between the mask and the skin. It requires that the maks fits the skin directly without any hair in between. To meet those requirements, as per CDC requirements, men need to shave their beard at the point of contact of the masks to ensure a proper-fit. Is it permissible to shave the beard in these circumstances. Please also note that there are full face masks that cover the entire face as an alternate that dont require one to shave, called the PAPR. However, these require a machine and are very expensive. Most hospitals may not have these available and given the current pandemic, there is largely a shortage of all kinds of masks.

Please also note the fatwa issued by AMJA https://www.amjaonline.org/fatwa/en/87733/shaving-the-beards-to-properly-fit-the-n95-mask-for-protection-against-covid-19. Please advice. Jazak Allah Khair

Taubah

Assalamualaikum,

I am reaching out to you in order to help my dad who is very old and is a very good man. He cries about a decision he made years ago and he thinks Allah will not forgive him.

Unfortunately a young sibling of mine was very out of control and made some very bad choices. The Guy that she was involved with was Muslim but not a good kid and my Dad did not approve of him. Even though he found out my sister had gotten pregnant by him he refused to let her marry him and forced her to have an abortion.

He made taubah but wants to do more for his peace of heart. He wants to know what else he should do to make Kaffarah.

Drinking Water Immediately After Food.

As-salaam-alaikum.

In the book Tibb-e-Nabawi, it is mentioned that we should NOT drink water during & immediately after meals EXCEPT to drink
after a break/gap of over 1/2 hour.

Also, the Hakeems in India insist on the same theme. I am sure it is wise.

I remember that I was told that it is sunnah but I do not have hadiths to back.

BUT I would request quotation of one or two authentic "Hadith" of Prophet Mohammed (s.a.s), in this regard since it will be very
easy for Muftis to quote from the vast treasure, alhamduliAllah, which they possess.

I shall be obliged to receive a positive response to my request, at an early date, for the benefit of my family & friends and the Ummah at large.

Jazakum Allahu khairan.

When i was in 8th grade i was sexually molested by my grandfather, i thought its cool. I used to massage his legs and thats how it started. I might have made the first move as i had no idea what i was doing. He is now long dead and i feel worthless and suicidal. Is there any dua. What should i do. Will i be forgiven??

Bad Thoughts - Waswasa

Assalaamu Alaikum

I'm so scared ams i need help In Shaa Allah.  For a long time now,  i have been suffering from huge waswas. It got really bad when i started feeling like i was saying things when i really wasn't. Or at other times,  i would feel get waswas and accidentally say something without intending to.

But two days ago something happened. I went to sleep and just as i was dropping off i suddenly recslled an awful waswas about Prophet Muhammad ( pbuh ).  I got very worried about this even as i was falling asleep. I woke up about an hour later and started thinking of this again. And then i can't explain it but my heart seemed to really harden. I felt like 'ok i don't care whatever'. And there was this huge urge to say the words and Astagfirullah I went ahead and six it. I knew even as i started to say it that this was wrong and i was aware whilst Saint it as well. No one would have heard it as it was just said without making any noise but i felt my tongue move. The second I finished,  I was filled with so much regret and horror. I was still lying in bed at this time as it had been just as i had woken up and hadn't even gotten up yet.

I'm in constant fear that i have become murthadh and that my nikah is void. I have spoken to two sheikhs and an usthaaza all of whom said this was due to waswas and it doesn't make me kufr. But i feel like i can't say waswas as an excuse for everything. I know what i did and i honestly feel like i did it on purpose. I don't know why as i absolutely hate the thought of it even. One sheikh did some Ruqya too to see if it was a jinn thing but i don't know if anything really happened.

In Shaa Allah i hope you can help me.

Wrong Dua

Asalamu alaykum wrwbru, when I was in 6th grade, I had waswasa. My family always talked about my marriage in the future.  I would always  think of my wedding and then all of a sudden make a dua saying "Oh Allah if I say I do/qabool/I accept on my wedding day then don't make it valid". Then I would say "astaghfirullah for me making that dua". And then all of a sudden I would say "no Allah whatever phrase I will use on my wedding day DO NOT except it and don't let this dua change due to any other dua or even if I say astaghfirullah"  This would have go on for 3+ minutes .Now that I am older I realize how stupid I was. Is my dua accepted? I did go through puberty back then. If this dua is accepted is there anyway around it?

Asalamualaikum Hazrat.

Firstly, please allow me to express my heart felt apologies. Believe me when I say, I am not asking questions, or following up on original just for academic reasons- no!

I am an ordinary Muslim who is trying desperately to chink away at my past sins! Given the sensitive nature of slandering, I wanted to be 100%.

You said if one is not able to seek pardon from someone for gheebat, then one should give them their good deeds, and seek forgiveness on their behalf to Allah, but with slander one must keep persisting? Your answer if taken literally implies one should ignore the level of risk, and take a leap of faith that all will be fine when one has confessed and seeked forgiveness. In my case, we’re talking typical desi politics that could lead to any sort of calamities.

You not need to answer my question, but I thought it was necessary to explain in some detail, why I personally felt the need to clarify if giving one their good deeds, and seeking forgiveness for them would be sufficient.

In future, I will structure my questions in a way, where no further follow will be required. I apologise once more for any inconvenience I caused.

Unfortunately at the age of 34; married with 2 kids, it’s difficult to enrol to a madrasah. In my local city there is much politics in our mosques, and no local madrasah/Darul Uloom.

Jazak’Allah.

Status of One’s Friend’s Faith/Emaan

Salaams Hazrat.

I take it on board what you are saying, but one point surprises. I should be concerned with my friends’s dean? Then what is the point of tabligh? What is the purpose of dawat? I am asking because they wanted me to ask for them.

I would appreciate it, if you can answer on the following points provided, otherwise may Allah reward you nonetheless.

------------
Previous Answer

You should not be concerned about the deen or kufr of others including your friends, they should be the ones who should ask the questions regarding their own faith, if they have the concern to do so. You should focus on your own actions and eeman. In addition, if a friend of yours seems to have beliefs which are non-Islamic you should refrain from keeping in contact with them.

Women Driving Cars

Asalamualaikum Hazrat,

I hope you don’t mind me asking you this question. My wife is keen to know.

Insh’Allah, I shall be arranging driving lessons for my wife with a female driving instructor.

Correct me, if I am wrong, but our ‘Ulema have different views in this regard due to the fitna today, but I believe it will be needed in my case, as I have two kids now, and for her to learn how to drive will be an advantage to the family, so she can go places when it’s important in my absence (when I am at work).

If I choose to go ahead with despite difference opinion, will I be considered sinful? This is my question.

Jazak’Allah.

Using the word Mawla/Mawlana

Dear sir,
I wish to have your comments on the following.
Well, ever since I have read  the word and meanings of "Moula", In  Sura Aal-e-Imran, Ayat 150 says.....
" balkay Allah hee tumhara Moula hay aur wohee behtreen madadgaar hay."
So when we put Na with it it becomes "Moulana" which is like "Rabbana", means "Mera Rabb"
So when we say "Moulana" becomes "Mera Moula".
Is it not  shirk to say "Moulana" to any one, particularly to Molvis and Aalims of all sects as it's just like to say
"Mera Moula"

Salah and Cleanliness

Asalamalaikum Sheikh,

I'm a shafai imam follower. My Questions are

1) I have urine leakage problem  and sometime i also notice sticky liquid on my underwear(madhiy i believe) , i read somewhere that for urine leakage just after taharat i can put a handful of water on my underwear so if urine comes out it will get dissolve in water. And, for madhiy just wash the part where it comes out and wash private parts and making wadu is fine. So my Question is most of the time i'm aware or unaware while offering namaz i get feeling like there is a urine leakage or madhiy comes out, and after namaz when i check it sometimes its true and sometimes false, and sometimes i feels like it comes out just after namaz and before i check it, so my namaz is valid if urine/madhiy comes out  during the namaz without my awareness or not

2) Because of the above problem, i read somewhere that i have to make fresh wadu for every farz namaz, but what if i'm offering the farz namaz as Qada(Qaza), like if i'm offering zohar and fajr namaz as qaza after asr namaz or when asr namaz time is started but beforing praying asr? like if asr namaz time started and i have fajr and Zohr Qaza, so after praying fajr qaza i have to make wadu then after zohar qaza wadu again ,have to make wadu again for asar namaz and do the asr namaz?

3)What if i recite tasbeeh 2/4/6 times in sajda e sahw. Do i need to do sajda e sahw ?

4) I offer 3 rakhth of Witr in two parts 2 rakths and 1 rakth, if i made a mistake in first two rakhths shall i make sahw after the salam of first two rakth or at the salam of 3rd rakth?

5) I have attached bathroom(washbasin(Sink), Bathtub and washroom) in a single door, can I make wadu inside and recite dua?
While entering the bathroom even to use the washroom do I have to recite dua of entering bathroom?

6)Do we have to make sahw if we didn't stretch words enough of Quran aayath like (Khul Yaaaa) or didn't pronounce sounds correctly how its suppose to be/ slight difference?

7) Can I use the perfume/Deo/Deo stick which has Alcohol Denat. or Perfume return in ingredients? Can you advice some Deo please

Hurmat-e-Musahirat - Inappropriate Touching

As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh

Hazrat, please bear in mind, I am not after any references if time is of the essence, and short answer will suffice. Please also note this question is of sensitive nature, but Islam encourages to ask if we do not know.

My question is:

If a father touches his daughter, or look sat her with lusfal gazes is his nikah with his wife terminated unconditionally?

If true how literal do we mean? Is it safe to say that if he inhibits paedophilia-like desires/impulses towards his daughter at the point when she’s mature then the nikah is terminated?

In addition, what if thoughts of another women comes to his mind as a result of looking at his daughter is the nikah terminated?

Please clarify clearly, and factually. This question is of great concern to me, and my wife.

Jazak’Allah.

Doubts per Shariah

Assalamualaikum,

In which Surah of the Quran e Majeed can we find the details about relationship between husband and wife, and their duties towards each other?

After having responsibility of parents to be taken care of, a man has the responsibility of his spouse and kids next, which is
Farz and he fulfilling other duties towards siblings and relatives is husn-e-sulook...Is it appropriate that he go for husn-e-sulook foregoing his farz responsibility towards his spouse and kids after his parents?

Heard that after getting her son married, even his mother cannot stop him from getting intimate with his wife and having kids (for any time period). In such a scenario, do other relatives and siblings of him have a ryt to stop
the Man from doing so?? If yes, can he deprive his wife of her ryts and her
desire of having kids, and every other ryt towards her (in every aspect)?

Do the husband or his parents, his siblings, or his relatives have to ryt
to insult wife, her siblings, and her parents as heard that "MIYA-BIWI EK
DOOSRE KA LIBAAS HOTE HAIN", or vice versa with the wife and her parents,
siblings, or relatives insulting husband. So as per this, both shud respect
each other, their parents, siblings, and relatives.. whoever it is. Can u
please put some light on this as per the Holy Quran e Majeed.

Can husband deprive wife's rights after getting married (like bearing
kids, as every woman dreams of having one), just giving some lame excuses?
and later on blame on wife stating it is because of her he is not able to
have kids or something else...

Heard that husband doesn't have the right to ask for woman's salary and it
is her husn e sulook if she wants to share it with her husband. In such a
case, is it the right of the wife to repay the loans that the husband has?
and if she is not able to do, is it appropriate for the husband to feel bad
regarding this stating she is not helping him financially? And do the
parents, siblings, or relatives of the guy have the right to ask her for her
pay, either directly or indirectly?

Kaffara for breaking oath

Assalamualaikum,

When I was in high school I didn’t realize the consequences of breaking oaths. I estimate that I sincerely swore and thereafter broke 6-8 qasams and I need to know how much money in cash would I be allowed to pay in total.

In the past, I heard that you can pay the kaffara with cash to the poor so I took around $30 per each oath I broke and put it in the donation box for the needy in my masjid. I don’t know if this counts as kaffara or not.

I want to know the value in cash that I would have to pay that is the equivalent of 10 meals that I would have to give to the needy  or the amount in US dollars I would have to pay for every qasam I broke.

Scary Dream Interpretation

Assalamualaikum,

My cousin had a very scary dream, and so told me to ask for the interpretatiion.

Her words about the dream are:

Soooo after fajar I slept and it was maybe 8 or 9 o clock. So i was in a niceeee house with black tiles inside n all ok so I was laying down on my bed and i feel that something is happening infront of me. So when i slightly open my eyes i see armed forces torturing kids or ppl. Then i kinda dont remember but i see from balcony that  sooo many armed forces in black n dark blue uniforms are killing innocent kids n they were looking like pathan kids 5th graders. And when ppl were begging them to stop or getting infront of them they started killing more brutally n fastly i mean more faster than a blink of eye they were throwing kids back in a dirty gutter. And then i seee that the house i’m in it’s a 3 story when i go down n find ppl want to escape so from the door i see that 17 to 19 armed forces are standing there and same on roof so that no one can escape. Its like escape or die. Ok so then a fat ugly Chinese man appears from a bathroom door actually and he said to people seeee I am your God i can take ur livesss and then door closed and he disappeared.

Please interpret this dream.

Brother passing away in dream

 Assalamualaikum,

I had a dream a few years ago that my brother died and he had a cloth over him like a shroud. A little while later in the dream we found out he was alive. I saw him صحيح سالم. This dream came when we were in my old house.

Then I had another dream maybe a year or so later I'm not exactly sure how long later maybe a few months that we were in my room (setting is in the house we moved in after that) and my brother and my dad are there. I didn't quite see him die but he died and then I saw that he was in a small decorated box on top of my dresser. The box was not see through- I couldn't see him. I don't know if his soul was in it or what but he was in it. Then me and my dad were in the kitchen, and he came in the kitchen صحيح سالم. This time we were sure that he had died and were confused to why he is alive now.

Please interpret this dream. Please note that my brother is Alhamdulillah alive and well.

Marriage valid or not valid

Assalamualaikum,

2 years ago I have married a Muslim distant relative of mine in the presence of 2 adult male Muslim witnesses (my uncles) and my older sister, in front of the imam and court lawyer that prepared our official marriage contract. My marriage took place without my father's permission and he was not aware of my marriage until recently. My father has forgiven me and is now accepting my marriage. I had married my father's nephew from his cousin's side. My father has always wished to make him his son-in-law but after a family dispute my father wanted nothing to do with his family anymore.

My husband and I live in different countries. When we visit my parents' home country we would stay with my father's relatives. So that is how my now husband and I developed feeling for each other  and we wanted to make our relationship Halal especially before I went back home. We wanted to make sure our communication with each other going forward would be Halal. He is a religious man and that is the main reason why I wanted to be married to him. After the family dispute my sister and I was still living in the house of my father's relatives under the supervision of my aunt and uncles. My father and mother had chosen to live in another house until we returned to the USA. My husband and I both wanted to get married and consulted with our uncle and had then preformed our Nikkah the following day. Since that day I have never doubted that my marriage was invalid because to my knowledge witnesses have to be present for the marriage to be valid. Recently some relatives of mine are showing me Hadiths that a woman who gets married without her guardian's permission, her marriage is invalid. My husband and I both fear Allaah and want to know for sure if our marriage is indeed valid or not.

Is the marriage valid because I had 2 male witnesses?

Was my marriage not valid because I did not ask for my father's permission prior to preforming the Nikah?

Would the marriage be valid now because my father is accepting my marriage and is pleased with my husband and communicating with his family once again?

Would I have to preform Nikah again to have a valid marriage?

Please provide me with some clarity I am extremely stressed and worried because I have thought I married the correct way and now I am having doubts if my marriage is valid or not.

Dream Interpretation not happened yet

Assalamualaikum,

I had a dream when I was probably 11 or something like that, that I was in the Haram and it was night and no light around and no one was there except me. I saw amazing Noor coming from inside of the Kaaba from the door.

I asked my Aalimah teacher, and she got the interpretation for me that I will InshaAllah go to Hajj soon. But I still haven't gone to Hajj and I am 16 years old now.

I think I told that dream to some people too. Maybe before I got the interpretation or maybe afterwards. I don't remember it was so long ago. But no one said anything about it. Did I not go to hajj until now because I told people about the dream? I regret it now but then I was foolish and I was like hah I'm cool, I got a dream about the Kaaba and told people about it.

Miscellaneous Questions

Assalamualaikum,

I have a few questions listed below:

Is the wife’s Hajj Fard on the husband? If he doesn’t take her to Hajj will he be a sinner?

If the husband takes his wife to Hajj but then afterward says that it was not Fard for him to take her and also says that uptill the time of that Hajj she was belittling him in front of people, what should be done?

If the husband only has money for his Hajj and not for the wife’s Hajj, but the wife doesn’t let him go stating that his Hajj will not be accepted if he doesn’t take his wife along, please comment.

What is the meaning of Naan, Nafqah and Saknah? Does it mean providing these according to the husband’s living standard, or society’s living standard, or according to wife’s standard?

If the husband does not want to live here anymore and goes back to his country, should the wife go with him or can she stay here at her will?

Then I had another dream maybe a year or so later I'm not exactly sure how long later maybe a few months that we were in my room (setting is in the house we moved in after that) and my brother and my dad are there. I didn't quite see him die but he died and then I saw that he was in a small decorated box on top of my dresser. The box was not see through- I couldn't see him. I don't know if his soul was in it or what but he was in it. Then me and my dad were in the kitchen, and he came in the kitchen صحيح سالم. This time we were sure that he had died and were confused to why he is alive now.

Please interpret this dream.

Jazakallah

Reciting Surah Yasin in Dream

Assalamualaikum,

About 4 years ago I had a dream in which my teacher was reciting the last part of Surah Yasīn. I didn' hear the words but I heard the Qiraat. I was sitting next to her and she was holding the Quran; she was on the last page of Surah Yasīn, that's how I know what she was reading. She was reciting so beautifully I wanted to listen to it forever, but then I woke up. Normally she recites Quran in a normal voice, but in the dream her voice was extremely beautiful and peaceful.

Three Divorce

Assalamualaikum,

I am a revert to Islam. My wife and I had gotten into a heated argument. Both of us had worked a 14 hour night shift and had not slept in the past 18 or 19 hours, I was suffering from the flu and was taking tamiflu and had taken benadryl and was light headed and had double vision. In the heat of my anger, while being goaded by my also very angry wife, unknowingly I said talak 3 times, just talak and not I give you talak, without any intention of divorce. I know I committed a grave sin and may Allah forgive me. Ameen!

Is our marriage still permissible? Both of us do not want our marriage to end and it was a mistake that was made in the heat of anger.

Navy blue blouse in dream

Assalamualaikum,

My question is in regards to a dream I saw. I’ve initially agreed to a marriage but ever since- I’ve been having extreme anxiety, but this of course could be shaitaan or other stressors . In my dream it was the day of my wedding and I pull out a navy blue ladies blouse. I ask my “fiancé/husband” in the dream who the blouse belonged to & he states it was his ex-wife’s and her favorite blouse. He than stands and requests me to wear it because he liked the way it looked on his precious wife and has kept it since. I understand the ruling on dreams- and there are various types of dreams- but I cannot shake this dream away. I don’t know if this has anything to do with me getting married. Any guidance would help.

Seeing a polar bear chasing in dream

Assalamualaikum,

My friend had a dream in which a big polar bear was chasing her and she was really scared. She searched it up on Google just to see what it would say, and it said "To dream about a polar bear hunting and stalking you or even chasing you, it foretells that your enemies might act as your friend to gain your trust and then betray you.

Please interpret this dream.. also does her searching it up and saying it out loud affect anything?

Dream Interpretation

Assalamualaikum,

I had a dream in which I was looking at myself in the mirror, and I had no clothes on except for underwear.. and I saw myself that I was fat, although in real I am a little skinnier than normal people. I looked at myself and promised myself that I would start exercising from tomorrow (and I don't remember but maybe I also made a promise to start dieting).

This setting was in my room wherein another mirror from my house was on a wall.. that mirror is not there in real life.

Please note that I don't look at myself in the mirror like that in real life. This dream is creeping me out.

Also I don't know if all the details of the dream (like the mirror was there in the dream but not in real) is actually effective to the interpretation, but I just said all the details.

This dream came to me two days ago, and I'm not praying so I didn't wake up for Fajr.

Please let me know the interpretation of this dream.

Jazakallah

Depriving from Inheritance after Gift

Our maternal grandfather had passed away 23 years ago. In his life he had given one of his pieces of land as gift to my father because our father was the only son-in-law. This gifting was known to all the heirs and no one objected though the legal process was not completed. Please note that the maternal grandfather has three sons and my mother, the only daughter. The maternal grandmother is still alive. After the demise of the maternal grandfather our father gave the land’s paperwork to the eldest maternal uncle so he could have the transfer proceedings done because our father used to live overseas. After that whenever our parents asked the maternal uncle about it, the maternal uncle would make excuses. When he was stressed more he said that this land will be shared. Our father passed away this year and the maternal uncle didn’t give the land papers for 23 years. Now the maternal uncle is saying to bring the Fatwa even though he acknowledges that the maternal grandfather had given the piece of land as a gift. But at the same time he also says that getting the land means this that there is no share in the rest of the inheritance. He says that the maternal grandfather had said the same. The property has not yet been distributed.

Please explain with clarification may be they will understand:

Who does the gifted item belong to?

The importance of the witnesses and the legal documents in Islam.

The sin of making misappropriation in the امانت (trust).

Wife not covering head does husband get gunah

Assalamualaikum,

My question is if my wife doesn't cover her hair, and her hair are showing to non mehram, do I get the sin as a husband. And I also heard that if unmarried sister doesn't cover her hair as a brother I get a sin for that. Sometimes they cover their hair but the scarf move and hair showes so do I get the sin for that. I remind my wife to cover her hair so I don't get gunnah.

Marriage Argument

Assalamualaikum,

A couple days ago I had an argument with my wife and she threatened that she will go to her mom's or go somewhere else and said that she can’t live here and left the room. After a couple of minutes she came back into the room and started arguing and I got angry with her and said okay leave, pack your bags and leave. I also later said, " I’m done with you" but I can't be sure that what I meant is that I’m done with her behavior and how she has been acting. Not once during the fight did my mind go towards divorce. Somewhere in the argument I also remember saying the Urdu word “khatam” but I cannot remember in what context this word was used. What is the status of our nikkah? I do not want divorce at all and my reaction and words was all anger.

Khula in USA and its validity

Assalamualaikum,

I am 29 yr old and have been married to my husband for almost 7 years now. However i have suffered emensely throughout the entirety of our marriage as my husband was a very stingy man. He was always fighting with me over my money and belitteling me on smallest things and mentally torturing me. We also have a 4yr old son and after many years i got sick and tired of him and filed for divorce in family court in 08/2018. In addition to mental torture , he is an incessant liar and he did not want me to pursue my education as a dental professional even though he agreed to it before we got married. I sponsored him to come to US and he paid for my living expenses when I was in another state and studying and he demanded me to pay that money back. Then he also tried to financially starve me and my son by withdrawing all money out of our joint account (it was his money) and closing all credit cards. I was very frustrated as I was with my parents at that time so I did not want to be financial burden on them for me and my son as my father did not have a job at that time. So i went to bank and they reversed his transactions and gave me 40% of the amount in the bank. Then he lied to me and made false promises (like he did all the time) again that he would change his habits. Please note he also send his shirtless pictures to my younger sister and invvited her on date when In was away and my sister told me about it and it broke my trust in him. Now i have divorce filed in court and he is demanding all of the Mahr (70 gms of 22k gold) and all of his money back. I have used that money for my food clothing and shelter since 08/2018 as he refused to let me enter his house and he changed the locks to the doors. He also has the custody of our son and I am in Chicago and hes in NJ. I told him he didnt give me khula so whatever I spend on my food clothing and shelter from that money that I have of his is halal and once he divorce me he can get the rest back. Also , we have child but he is demanding Mahr back . is that a valid reason to ask for Mahr as neither is he pious nor was he a good husband to me. Please advice as he continues to torture me mentally that I am eating from haram money. If i do return the money to him that I have left he will not pay me for anything , nor would he divorce me so i was forced to go to bank to forcefully get that money out as I am still his wife islamically and dont want to burden my parents financially. I have also now moved to Chicago for my dental studies so I can later do job and support myself. please advice as I would like to set this straight. Also , once he signs on the divorce decree , will that be a valid divorce islamically?

'Amliyaat

Assalamualaikum,

My mom has had a hard struggle when she grew up. She was abandoned by her family when she was 9 years old, she lived in the streets and at friends' houses, she was also abused, later on she left her country to get a better life somewhere else, she then settled and got married to my violent and abusive father, he used to beat her up to the point where she was in coma, he would kick her down the stairs when she was pregnant with my sister, he made her life hard, she was in that abusive relationship with my father for 10 years then she moved and divorced him, she then moved somewhere else away from him, but during her time with my father, he put her on alcohol till she became an alcoholic, even though she still raised us by herself, she would drink alcohol and get angry at me and my siblings for no reason, the situation got worse when my siblings started running away from home stressing her out even more, my siblings came back, then my mom thought she might as well get a Sheikh to read Quran in the house. The Sheikh then began to do Ruqya on all of us. My mom started crying unexpectedly, but it was the jinn, the Sheikh then kept on reciting Quran, the Sheikh got to a point where he was talking to the jinn by asking if he was a Muslim, then he asked How many jinns there were. They were 4, the jinn then said he blocked my mom's blessings from her and wanted to make her life a misery. It was a family of jinns inside her, they said they were inside her for 22 years, after the ruqya she started praying and stopped smoking and drinking, then she slowly started smoking and drinking again, she hardly prays even though I tell her to pray, Please help, I want my mom die as a Muslim so she can be rewarded for her trials and patience.

'Amaliyaat for getting rid of Magic and gaining Health

Assalamualaikum,

My eldest sister is not well for the past few months in Hyderabad, India. She is married and has 3 kids. My sister doesn’t want to stay in her home. She is not liking her home at all. She doesn’t want to cook or do any chores. She is not sleeping well either. She just want to go out of the home or sit in others' house. She is worried and scared to be in her home. She says that her foot has burning sensation (Talwey jal rahe hain, Ghar mein Haibat ho rahi hai). At night, she gets more scared. We took her to the doctors and some Molvi Saheb for dua. Some people say it’s black magic, asraat, or her home has some shayateen. She falls sick near Amass and poonam. We spent lot of money. Please help us in finding authentic 'Alim or give any verse to read or wazifah. Please guide us. It’s her own house but earlier non Muslims used to live there as tenants.

Seeing the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم in a dream

Assalamualaikum,

I am writing to get an interpretation of a dream I saw on a Friday Morning.

I saw the Prophet Muhammed صلى الله عليه و سلم standing near the steps of a white masjid holding four walking sticks. I was not able to see his face but remember seeing him in a white dress. He handed me two of the sticks with the names of the two Caliphs Abubakr (RA) and Osman (RA) written on them. He indicates that the other two sticks are not for me. I climb up the steps of the masjib with these two sticks and the dream ends.

I have four sons so not sure if the above dream is connected to that.

Fear of Not Getting Jannat ul Firdos

Assalamualaikum,

I have a few questions. After listening to several lectures, I have began to think more and more about Jannat and the akhirat in general. I know that once the Day of Judgement comes, wherever we go (May Allah give us all Jannah), we will be there forever. At the same time, I know that there are different levels of Jannat and Jahannam. A question came to my mind: what if I get Jannat, but not the highest level? Since then, I've been having this weird feeling inside of me. I know that Jannat will be so beautiful and amazing to us, but what if I see the higher levels and become "jealous" you could say. To make an easier example, what if I buy a Mercedes and my friend buys a Lamborghini for the same price. Seeing this, I would most likely say "I could have also gotten that Lamborghini, but it's too late now, I have the Mercedes". Of course the Mercedes is very nice and beautiful, but imagine if I had the Lamborghini. The worst part is that I can't even go back and get the Lamborghini now. So now there would be that feeling of uneasiness or jealousy, that I could have had an even better car. Basically these are my questions:

  1. Will I be sad if I have a lower level of Jannat?
  2. Is it okay to have this kind of thinking or fear?
  3. Are there any duas or actions I can perform to please Allah so that he may place me in the highest level of Jannah?

I apologise for the long post, but this has been in my mind for a few weeks now.

For instance, we were watching a scene and I left  for a few minutes and when I came back I asked him what happened in the drama and he repeated I am divorcing you that's what the character in the drama said to his wife (main talaq deta hoon). My question is does this count as divorce?

Abortion at 20 weeks due to a life-threatening condition in fetus and danger to the mother's life

Assalaamualaikum,

The following query is very urgent and time-sensitive regarding the permissibility of medical abortion in Islam.

My brother’s wife is 20 weeks pregnant as of recent ultrasound done on October 30, 2018.

The doctors have told us that the fetus has a very large omphalocele with abdominal organs lying in a sac outside the body cavity and the fetus also was diagnosed on the same date with limb body wall defect, a very rare defect in which the left foot is clubbed.

It is a very unusual pregnancy as the omphalocele sac is joined to the placenta and to separate it at delivery, it would require a very big C-section and chances of severe bleeding while doing surgery in order to separate the omphalocele sac with the placenta to cut the cord and is dangerous for the mother’s life too.

The baby has his organs in a sac lying outside the abdomen, sac contains liver, intestine, bladder, stomach. The abdominal wall defect is not fixable and is a highly life-threatening surgery if done for the baby after delivery.

The parents want to do a DNC ( abortion) as to the fact that the defect is not fixable and compatible with life later on and with too many complications for the mother as well as the fetus.

Could they do an abortion at 20 weeks given the above life-threatening situation of the fetus and danger to mother’s life from the very big C-section surgery in which the doctor says that the incision for C-section would be 10 times bigger than a normal C-section and chances of danger to mother’s life while cutting the cord and doing the C-section.

This query is very time-sensitive and urgent, kindly please respond.

It is their first baby, no previous abortions or miscarriages.

Is my Nikah Valid If my husband says to someone that he does not believe in Muslim faith?

Assalaamualaikum,

I am married for 14 years and have a son 10-year-old son with this marriage. My husband is a reverted Muslim. We got married Islamic court in presence of my father and brother. He only does Fridays prayer and doesn't eat haram foods. I always had problems with him not praying five times a day and not following Islam the way he is supposed to follow but I didn’t take it very seriously since he was claiming he is Muslim and always lazy to pray at home/go masjid.

He was always talking to his old friends who were girls but didn't have physical relationships with any as far as I know and as he claims.

Since six years ago he started working as a handyman to a divorced, Christian-Indian woman's house and helping her with her parents, son and whatever she needed help with at home or outside. I have seen a lot of changes in his nature during this period. I have seen him talking/text to her and keeping his phone password controlled so I don’t see his messages. I started having doubt that he is having something more than just work relations and I found out that he proposed her to be his girlfriend and told her that he doesn't believe in the Muslim faith.

But to me, he says that he is still a Muslim. He does not know that I have recorded his conversation while he was talking to that woman and I know what he told her about his faith. Now I want to find out if my Marriage is valid or not because he said this to someone else on phone, not to me. I am really confused and don’t know if I am doing Haram by living with him. Just to let you know we are in Nikah by Islamic sharia but not married legally on papers by US law.

I am trying to keep him away from me with so many excuses, but it will not work for a long time and I will have to talk to him. Please guide me as soon as possible because I have lost my peace and not sure what to call this relationship.

Enquiry about a establishing a school if it is allowed in Shairah

Assalamualaikum,

I have a business idea in mind, I would like to check with the ulema if the idea is allowed in Shariah.

The idea is to start an educational institute either in India or here in United States. In the institute we would educate children by letting them play with Legos. Legos are like small, colorful building blocks. Using Legos, children can build toy buildings, ships and architectural models. In more advance sessions, we would encourage them to build robotics like toy cars running with batteries, building toy helicopters, robots and drones doing some very simple tasks.

By doing these exercises, children develop persistence, problem solving and mathematical skills. It improves creativity and encourages team work early on in their lives.

I would like to check if running this kind of eductional institution is allowed in Shariah. If so, I would go ahead and implement this idea. If this is not allowed, please let me know if we can eliminate some parts (which are not allowed in Shairiah) and still be able to launch this educational institute obeying the rules of Shariah.

Wife sucking husband's private part

Divorce issue, please reply fast

I need help regarding my divorce issue. I’m badly stuck and have a very short time to fix this issue since my in-laws are badly forcing my husband to file a divorce in court asap. So I really need a fatwa asap so that if there’s something left in our marriage then I can save it. My husband is very nice but for no reason, my in-laws are so against me and they were forcing my husband to leave me else they’ll leave him. So he was so pressurized that he was actually seeing a Psychiatrist and getting help from counselors all this time. Please, please reply me fast, I really need a fatwa soon.

I talked to Mufti Saheb on the phone he said that he could send me the fatwa fast. So please try to do it as fast as possible and please send separate fatwas for all three questions on three different pages to avoid confusion:

My first question is my husband and I had an argument in which my husband issued 2 divorces at once. He used the words, “I divorce you”. Is issuance of such divorce at a time counts as one divorce or full irrevocable divorce???

and the second question is I am sure I heard that in Hanafi view or even in all the other views it's same that if a man issues divorce in extreme anger then it doesn’t count at all? My husband who never yells shouts or gets mad about anything, during an argument he was so extremely out of control that he was trying to get out of the house. I got super upset so I forced him and literally held his hand and pulled him inside the house and he got so mad. He started yelling and shouting, then he was trying to avoid me but I kept on asking him questions, so he got so mad, he got so out of control, and he started saying things which he never said in his life and in that anger he said, "I divorce you". Literally, I put my whole hand in his mouth to make him shut. And after that, he was so blank as nothing happened and he was so out that he had no idea what he just said or did. He had no intention of saying a divorce word. He was soo extremely mad. It was a level of insanity. He had no idea what he was saying or doing. So in extreme anger, saying divorce one or two times,  does it count at all?

My third question is if a husband issues 2 divorces at once and then the wife goes to her parents' house and they don’t make up (no Rujo' or no intercourse) at all during the iddat period, can he issue another divorce or not until they make up (do Rujo')?

Want to become Aalim

Assalamualaikum,

My name is Muhammad and I am 16 years old. I live in North Carolina. When I completed 7th grade in public school, I asked my parents to put me in full-time hifz program and they agreed. I started hifz at 13 and finished at 15 الحمد لله. During that time I was doing homeschooling. Now I finished 10th grade while homeschooling and will be going into 11th grade starting this September. I want to become an Alim and do Iftaa after. My parents are saying no, I have to complete 11th and 12th grade in public school then go to college and get a degree. They are saying after I get a degree, then maybe I can join Alim Course. What I want to do is start Alim Course now and get a GED (High School Diploma) concurrently. Then finish Alim Course around 22 or 23 and finish Iftaa by 24 or 25. After that, I can get a degree if it is necessary. If I go to public school and college right now I will most likely get a degree at 22, and after Alim and Iftaa I will be over 30! Also if I go the school route, I might not be as enthusiastic about joining Alim Course then. I know having a degree might help in terms of having knowledge, but as an Alim or a Mufti I think you can teach Islam and be an Imam without a degree as many scholars are Alims and Muftis and have no secular degree. Where I live, many of the scholars here completed hifz and then went to Darul Uloom Zakariyya in SA whilst having a GED. Please tell me how I can persuade my parents. Today is the 14th of August, 2018, I only have less than month until public school opens. Coincidentally, Alim classes in New York start the same day public school opens. What I want to do is start next month (September) and complete I'daadiyah and 5 years of Alim Course in New York and then do Dora e Hadith and Iftaa in South Africa ان شاء الله. Please advise me what to do, as I really want to become Islamic scholar and please make dua my parents let me join Alim Course now in September. Please reply back whenever you have time.

I saw Madinah in my dream

Assalamualaikum,

I saw a dream at 9 or 10 a.m. that I went to my house from my office at the time of night and I saw my house boundary wall but there was no house in that boundary wall. I was shocked to see that there is no house there. Suddenly I saw next to my plot there is a boundary wall. In it there is green dome of Masjid e Nabawi.

Then I was happily seeing that green dome. Suddenly I saw on my plot there is a white color dome house beautifully built and I was saying, "Ohh it's my home".

Please tell me the Ta'beer of this dream ASAP.

I am dying to know the Tabeer.

Can't trust my wife

Assalaamualaikum,

I was married before and had a wonderful life. The only issue was that I have no kids from her because of her age. The truth is that I feel very bad myself because it was my choice to marry again. Anyway, my first wife agreed and she said to go ahead and marry someone else. I am very sure she didn’t mean it but I left and married the second time. I have been married over 16 years and have two kids but my relationship with the new wife is very bad. I can’t trust her now, I don’t know what to do, please advise? I can’t leave with her as I can’t trust her.

Dream Interpretation

Assalaamualaikum,

I recently saw a dream where I was in a toilet and there was a lot of stool. Someone came in and cleaned all of it with water then I came out.

Also some time back I had a similar dream where the bathroom was in bad condition then there was water flowing through a tap which cleaned all of it.

Can you please interpret this and guide me.

Can we delete islamic emails to put them in the Trash folder

Assalaamualaikum,

I get a lot of emails from Islamic organizations which include Islamic names and contents from Quran and Hadith. The email program I use is called ThunderBird. It has folders named like Inbox, Sent and Trash. Each time I delete an email it automatically goes to the Trash folder. Same happens for Islamic emails. I feel bad that Islamic content is sitting in that folder called "Trash". I cannot change the name of that folder. Could you please let me know if this is OK to let Islamic emails go to the Trash folder?

Sometimes I manually drag and move the emails to a folder that I have created and named "Islamic". But, with so many emails it becomes a hassle. Further, part of my name is Ahmad. So, even regular business emails have my name, which is an Islamic name. So, every email in the Trash folder has my name as well.

I know I may be overly concerned but just wanted to confirm.

A Question on Validity of Nikah / Request for Dissolution of Nikah

Assalamu Alaikum,

I'm a Turkish woman who met an Iraqi man while in Turkey in 2008 and together we married after he moved to the US in 2009. Our nikah was performed by an imam in Boston, MA and we also registered at the local clerk for marriage certificate.

In the 5th year of our marriage my husband said that he no longer loves me and wished to separate. Since we had a child I pleaded to keep our marriage intact so we can work out our problems. I sought counselling. Over time he became reclusive, emotionally unavailable, and started to belittle me. His behavior got worse, to the point that he had left his prayers, and fasting, and acquired a taste for wine, and had relations outside of our marriage with women. A year passed and he asked me to sleep in another room. His behavior got worse and worse. He finally said he will no longer pay for my rent and he will not renew the lease for our apartment on both of our names. He asked me to move out. I had to find a job, move out and support myself on my own. My parents helped. He wanted to come and go as he pleased, to visit his child and ask me to fulfil my wifely duties, but I refused to fulfil his request. I allowed him to see his daughter and spend time with her but he was no longer allowed to come into my home and request sexual relations. After a year and half of living on my own, I decided to go back home to Turkey to seek guidance from my parents and family. When I came back, my husband called my father and told him that he still loved me. My father advised me to go back. But I refused. By now my husband has changed his name from Ahmed to Alex, acquired a completely different lifestyle and is no longer the man I knew he was. I've been in Turkey for 7 months now and I've requested divorce proceedings. However my husband refuses. He refuses on account that he still loves me. I cannot bare to live like this. I am in doubt of the validity of my nikah due to his rejection and forcing separation on me. But more importantly, these conditions are not pleasing to Allah, I would like to request a dissolution of nikah by the Sharia Board.

Thank you,

Dream Regarding Wedding Ring Gifted by Relatives

Assalamualaikum

A few months ago my sister had gotten married, at her wedding she was gifted a gold ring from a family friend of ours. After all the wedding festivities had ended, few nights into the marriage my sister started to have very frightening dream and she would often wake up at night in a state of panic and confusion. There would be times where even her husband would be dazed at what is going on. Then one day she had a different dream as if she was walking and a little young boy was following her, and she kept turning and insisting to the boy to “go away” and "to stop following her”. The boy finally approached her and said to her “sister ok I will leave but please take off that ring and give it to me, and let me bury it into the ground”. After this she woke up from her sleep and saw the ring she was wearing was the same ring she was given to her as a wedding a gift from our family friend. She spoke to my parents about this and they advised her to take that ring off and bring it to them and not wear it again. Ever since, she has been sleeping perfectly well, without any frightening nightmares and everything is back to normal (alhamdulillah).

The people who gifted her the ring have not spoken to us since the day of her wedding. We were also told by few people at the wedding these people were acting awfully strangely at the ceremony and were passing sarcastic comments often, as if they were not happy for some reason. We still do have the ring in our possession at my parents' house and we do not know what we should do with it. Someone told us to toss it into the water so no one else can get to it. Please advise regarding the interpretation of this dream and what are the recommend next steps for us. Are we thinking too much regarding this issue or is there some reality to it?

What dua should i read to bring back my son to right path, as I have doubts that he is still in relationship with her. Moreover he does not allow me to come to Toronto to visit him.

Baby Crying Throughout the Night

Assalamualaikum

I have two daughters, age 5 years and 21 months. My younger daughter troubles me a lot at night. She starts crying all of a sudden at around 2 am every night and continues to cry for an hour or more for no reason. First I thought it was because I have stopped breastfeeding her but it was three months back when she got used to bottle feeding very well. I don't understand why she cries every night. Could you please tell me some supplication or wazeefa for this issue? And could you please suggest something for barakah in my home and inner peace because unnecessary thoughts keep on crossing my mind which keeps me feeling stressed.

Supporting a Relative Financially

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah,

I have a twin brother who used to live with me as because of his status he couldn't work at that time. Due to this reason, he did not leave a very good impression on my wife during the early days of my marriage. He then moved back home, got married and then started working in Saudi Arabia. Ever since he got married (for 10 years now), I never helped him, and he never asked for help, whenever he did it was in a manner of joking and not a real need. I did not send him any money either because I wanted to get a house for my family first. Now that I have bought a house and deposited some money in my wife’s account, just recently, I found out that he was in need because of the economic condition in Saudi Arabia. I asked my other brother to send the money to this brother in Saudi Arabia, as the other brother owed me, so the other brother sent him the money and my wife knew about it. After two or three months, I again found about his position that he had some debt as he owed someone else, so I sent some more money twice to help him, but this time I didn't tell my wife. A few weeks back, my wife asked me a trick question, I could not lie so informed her about the amount that I had sent. She got upset that when she asked me to help him I did not help but later I did. It was not a lie, as at that time I was not going to send him any money. However, later when I found out that he needed money I sent it. My wife and I had a big fight over this.

I tried explaining to my wife that it is my money and if I give this money in charity, then the best charity will be to give to my family members in need. Nevertheless, she is thinking that he is getting a free ride and I am going to spoil him by sending him money. She wants to know each time how much money I am send him. I am against this idea since I want to be able to spend without anyone's knowledge. I agreed with her that for bigger amounts, we can discuss, but for smaller amounts I should be able to send without telling her.

My question is, does the wife has the right to know every time I spend? Can she ask me not to spend on a specific individual? Can she limit the amount, when I have enough and I am fulfilling the needs of my family already? What if this causes fights between us. Should I give up? Or should she? Because either of us have to come to terms in order to stop the fight. If I give up, then my family members might suffer. I know that other family members are also trying to help but they cannot do that much.

JazakAllah

Curing Son's Addiction

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu

I am from Toronto, Canada. My son is 20 years old and is a Hafiz-e-Quran. He finished his memorization of Quran in 2015 and used to recite and revise his Quran every day. But since he started going to the university I have become very concerned about him. He has started going to gatherings where people take drugs e.g. marajiuana. As per my knowledge my son has started smoking weed in ciggarates too. Now he is moving away from his usual recitation and revision of Quran as well. There are a lot of his friends in that group who are also huffaz and they always remain in contact through phones etc. We have to force him a lot after which sometimes he reads half or full page. It seems like he has lost interest in reading Quran, however he still reads salah regularly. He has a lot of irritation these days and he does not want to speak to his family members either. Please provide us a wazeefa or supplication which will help him come back towards the teachigs of Islam. Me and my husband are extremely worried about this situation, may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala give you all great reward for helping us, wassalam.

Divorce as a Result of Challenging Situation in Married Life

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

I am writing to you in order to get guidance regarding my married life. Me and my wife have been facing a lot of issues in our relationship for a long time now, which did not get resolved even by the involvement of both our families. Now the situation is my wife, without my permission, for the past year and half has been staying with one of her aunts. Initially I was sending her some money for her expenses, but because of her rude behavior and not taking interest in coming back, I stopped sending her the money. She also has a son from her first marriage. There have been rumors regarding her being in contact with someone else and is establishing a relationship with a man, but I do not believe on such rumors, however, I do feel that I am completely stuck in this situation since it feels like there is going to be no betterment of this situation in future. Whenever we start to talk in order to reconcile or resolve our issues, it ends in either of us becoming extremely mad and upset. Some of my friends say that there is no point in being stuck in such a broken down relationship and should be completely broken down otherwise it is equivalent of binding both the husband and wife in a dilemma.

The request I want to make regarding my whole situation is although I know that divorce is an abhorred act in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala but how long should I keep on trying to save this relationship and how long should I wait before issuing a divorce, what will be the best time to go through the process of divorce? When I expressed to her that we are at a point that I feel a divorce is inevitable, she took it as a divorce and she has been telling people that I have given her one divorce, which is not true. This is just her misunderstanding, please provide your recommendation in this matter, I will respect and act upon it.

Watching oneself and spouse dead in Makkah (Dream Interpretation)

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

Could you please provide me with the interpretation of this dream, I saw that me and my husband are in Makkah and it feels like we have went their with an intention to perform umrah, due to the reason that there aren’t many people around, just a few people who are busy in performing tawaf. I saw the haram’s floor and also saw that me and my husband have passed away. Our dead bodies lay down there with white covering. Immediately after looking at this scene there was a feeling of gratitude and happiness in my heart that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala has given me and my husband the honorable death in His house. But I also started feeling the pain regarding my kids as to who will take care of them and understand their needs since the way they tell us their needs they will not be able to explain it to someone else. I saw this dream at the time of fajr salah. Please guide me in this respect and I will be really thankful to you, JazakAllahu Khaira.

Husband is Not Fulfilling His Responsibilities

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

My husband came to the USA just over a year ago on a green card sponsored by me. He moved out to live in a separate apartment just after 3 months. Now, for the last 9 months he does not talk to me and does not pick up my calls. I went to his apartment with my 6 year old daughter but he did not open the door. I have complained to my father and mother in law regarding this issue but they did not help me. They take his side and tell me that all your problems are because you do not respect him. The only message they send me is to be patient. What does the Islamic Shari‘ah say about this situation? I do not have a job and with a 6 year old daughter I am staying with my parents. I am depressed and sometime go through psychological problems. I can complain to USA immigration but I do not want to do that that with the hope that everything may become OK one day in near future. Please provide your advice on what I should do?

Last time I spoke with him and he told me that I will not divorce you and also will not accept you. We will raise our daughter living separately. I want to seek Shariah advise as my parents are asking me to seek legal advice from attorneys about my rights and his religious responsibility. He has put my phone on block and threatened me that he will call police if I try to talk to him again. I am very desperate and lonely, please help.

My Daughter's Situation

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

My daughter says that from this year she is an atheist and bisexual. She cuts her hand and tried several attempts to commit suicide. She went to the hospital many times and is going through therapy and psychiatrist treatment. She does not like me. She says that “my mom hit me when I was 13”. I don’t remember it but she was a stubborn child. She also says that one of the reasons of her hate is my “super religiousness”. She says no to everything that I tell her. She took off her hijab and stopped praying salah and her hifz. She wants to run away from home and live a non-muslim life. She has started eating pork and wants to drink alcohol. She knows a lot about Islam but she is doing the total opposite. She says she wants freedom.

We tried everything dua and dawa but nothing seems to be working. She is waiting to become 18 and finally get out of the house (she is currently 15). She is in the 11th grade and does not want to study, wants to drop off from the school and do petty jobs.

What should we do in this situation? How should we bring her back to Islam and its teachings? I have tried my best but she is extreme in her behavior. I am doing ruqiyah, have given her zamzam and after praying salah am giving her water on which I have blown the manzil I read. She drinks it and listens to the Quran but does not follow anything. Anything I tell her she does the total opposite of it. She says nobody loves her and has non-muslim friends who left her as she was engaging in all of this behavior. She also tried to go on a date with someone but it got cancelled because my husband saw her messages

For now, since nothing is working, we have just left her alone. She says that if Allah was real then my life would not be like this as she was cyber bullied at her school and suffers from social anxiety. Please help us.

Dua for Baby Boy

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

I have two daughters, when my first daughter was conceived, I use to read the following supplications:

ربی ھبلی من الصلحین ،ربی لا تضرنی فردا و انت خیرالوارثین

When my wife became pregnant with our second child, I continued on reading these supplications but again we were blessed with a girl, maybe Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala’s will was to give us a girl again. Now my wife is again pregnant, it is her second month and we are praying for a baby boy this time. We are receiting Suratul-A‘ala, using its ta‘weez and blowing it as well. Since the second month is about to be completed, can we put a taweez with Surah Yousuf?

Please provide us the best wazeefa and dua that we can read and request Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala to give us His special favor and give us a baby boy? Please make dua for us too that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala gves us pious, healthy and obedient baby boy, aameen.

Rectification of Nazar by Wearing a Ring

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

I recently visited a mufti sahib to get guidance about how each and everything we (me and my family) buys by the grace of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala is either being damaged, sold back or loaned upon. Alhamdulillah I always ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala for safety from people's nazar and jealousy, since some people say that said nazar is so powerful that it can crush a mountain into dust.

I was advised by the mufti sahib to continue the dua, perform astaghfar abundantly and he also asked me to wear a silver ring with a hoopoe bird's eye enclosed inside with any random stone in the outer part. Upon further enquiring about this ring, I was told that it will keep me safe from nazar, jealousy etc. Now my only problem is that I've never wore a ring but I do know that silver up to a tola (10gm) or a little over is permissible. I wanted to confirm if it is ok to wear such a ring especially with hoopoe’s eye enclosed? I have done my research about the bird and have found out that this was the bird Hazrat Suleman Alyhissalam used as his informer. Please shed some light on the permissibility or impermissibility. I already have a silver ring with aqeeq stone in it, I will just have to put the eye of the hoopoe in it.

Guidance About Difficult Family Situation

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

I am 18 years old and have two younger siblings. For the past year, my father has been threatening to kick us out of the house and has been wrongfully accusing me and my mother of horrible crimes in which we have no involvement such as adultery. We told his brothers and they took him to a psychiatrist, he is now on medication. But, it is evident that everyone is on his side. Because they've been deceived for so long as to who he is and what we had been hiding from everyone for so long, no one believes us. I think one day I'll have to take my mother and my younger siblings away from him. But in the meantime, what can I do to help my mother and siblings when we are so alone and afraid?

Intent to Get Married

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

I am a 21 year old woman about to graduate from my undergrad college. I have been getting to know this boy who is the same age as mine and also about to graduate and has a job in a respective field. Through time we have both realized that we would like to get married. The only problem is that I am from Senegal and he is from Pakistan and both are parents are very cultural. We are not exactly sure how to bring this topic up to our parents without causing problems. We would really like to have a relationship in the halal manner and make sure that at the end of the day we are considering Islam as our top most priority and make any decision in the light of its teachings. Your advice will be extremely helpful in this matter.

Relationship with Non Muslim Girl

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

I have a long story but I hope you can provide me some guidance.

Unfortunately I have been in a relationship with a Non-Muslim girl for couple of years now. When I met her I wasn't a practicing Muslim, but I now understand that it was not a good thing to do. For the past 4/5 months our contact has been severed due to problems with her parents. She did not contact me but during this time I made dua to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala that if this girl does not accept Islam, may she never be brought back into my life. But after a few weeks she contacted me again and in my opinion it was a harmless phone conversation. But I still continued on making the same dua. I am not sure if making such a dua is permissible or not.

After that we did not have contact but I sent her a letter stating if she accepts Islam that is the only way we can move on together. After 4/5 days she contacted me and we decided that we would meet in a couple of weeks. But then she disappeared although we did not have any fights and she is usually not an arrogant person.

She is a female who liked staying at home and did not get involved in the vices some of European girls are involved in (e.g. clubbing, drinking etc.). She is obedient by nature and also insisted me to make decisions. This tells me that she is not an arrogant person, but on the other hand i do not understand her current behavior for constantly not contacting me. We barely spoke about Islam with each other and that is something I really regret. I had also made dua in past from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala to show me a sign if she wanted to revert to Islam but I did not get any such signs or maybe I missed to see them.

My question now is, should I contact her and talk to her again and invite her to Islam or should i leave her alone? I am confused with the overall situation and need someone else to help me answer this questions. I do not want to get involved in calling her and then her not picking my calls up etc.

I will respect your answer and I will follow your advice InshahAllah.

Physical and Internal Discomfort

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

Lately I have been feeling very anxious, unenergetic and worried time to time. In addition, I feel physical symptoms such as excess nervousness, sweating, poor concentration, frustration and irritability. I am having a hard time relaxing and putting my mind at ease. What can I do to combat these feelings? Is there any supplication or Quranic verses I can recite in order to cure this problem?

Supplication for Cure from Persistent Sickness

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

I am a 30 year old single female. I have been suffering from constant illnesses such as depression, fevers etc. for the past 8 years. For the past 4 years, I have been suffering from severe abdomen pain and just a year back the doctors have confirmed that I suffer from something called chronic pancreatitis. In addition to this disease, my condition is such that one minute I am totally feeling great but the next moment I start feeling lethargy, dullness, high fever, severe body aches etc. People who look at me do not know what pain and suffering I am going through as physically I look totally fine and everyone tells me I look perfect. I have consulted with the best doctors in Hyderabad but allopathic medicine further aggravates my issues so I am currently on homeopathic medicine.

I have firm belief that sickness and health is only in the hands of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala and to be content with His will is desired. But I also want to ensure that I read a dua or a wazeefa which can help me decrease some pain due to my disease and the other issues I have mentioned above. Please advise me regarding a dua that I can read for the betterment of my situation.

Obeying the Parents

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

We are 4 sisters, we had one (youngest) brother who passed away 6 months back, he was a very good kid and used to take care of all of us including our parents, very much. For some reason our mother never loved him, so much so that she did not even talk to him properly, especially since he had gotten married, my mother and father completely changed and fought with him all the time. My parents would defame him in front of other family members, if we sisters spoke to him nicely, they got mad on us. Even on the day when he had the heart attack my mother was angry at him, he used to ask me that since he kept all the family members including his wife and kids happy and had not done anything wrong, why did mom treat him this way. After he died, my mother now says that she does not have any complaints against him and that he was a good son. My bhabi (sister in law) and my brother's 3 kids, lived with my mother and father after my brother's death. My mother used to fight with our bhabi (sister in law) all the time, from the third day of my brother's death they started fighting again and even after much mediation they did not change, so bhabi and her kids left. My mother told us that she hates our father too. My elder sister then started living with my mother and father but now my mother started behaving badly towards my sister so much so that she has separated her kitchen and food with her. Mufti sahib, we all love our mother very much, she was not like this before, she used to be like our friends, but she fights with everyone all the time now. She fights with all her daughters and leaves the house without informing anyone. Our father then tries to find her and brings her back to the house. Fights have started in my sisters' homes as well and their husbands have started making comments about this whole situation as well. Please tell us something which will bring peace and serenity in our house.

Method of rectifying the effects of nazr

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

What is the method to remove nazr? I think I have been deeply affected spiritually and mentally due to nazr. I realized it when many people were praising my recitation of quran while I was leading taraveeh for many years. I can no longer recite quran like I used to and my mind remains confused. Sometimes it feels as if my body is losing control and it begins to act by itself. Can you please let me know what I can do to remove this nazr. I read the manzil after fajr and maghrib every day, but the effects of nazr do not seem to be decreasing.
