Missed Prayers

Assalam alaikum,

If one accidentally (and not out of habit or wantedly) sleeps through a time of prayer, like Fajr, Asr, when should the Kaza prayer be offered? I heard that one should offer the missed prayer as soon as they wake up but aren't there certain times of the day when one is prohibited to offer namaz. SO what should one must do if one wakes up during this prohibited time of the day for offering namaz?

Jazakallah Khairan.

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق

If you wake up from sleep at the time of sunrise, you must not pray at that time. Wait until the sun rises a spear’s height, roughly about fifteen minutes after sunrise, after that pray “Qadha” of Fajr.

For Asr prayer, if you wake up at the “makrooh” time or right at sunset time, it is allowed to pray Asr of that day at that time.
