Can a Muslim man marry his sister's mother - in-law who is their fathers younger brothers ex wife too according to Islam? 

Because that makes him his own sisters father in law, or can step son can marry petarnal aunt meaning father's sister? 

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق

  1. It is allowed to marry the mother-in-law of his real sister, provided there are no other objections.
  2. A stepson can marry the sister of his stepfather, because he is “ghair Mahram” for her.

لمافی القرآن المجید(النساء:۲۳) : وَاُحِلَّ لَكُم مَّا وَرَاءَ ذٰلِكُمْ اَنْ تَبْتَغُوْا بِاَمْوَالِكُمْ مُّحْصِنِيْنَ غَيْرَ مُسَافِحِيْنَ۔

وفی التاتارخانیۃ (۲/ ۳): ولو جاز لواحد منھما ان یتزوج الاخری فالجمع جائز کالجمع بین المرأۃ وابنۃ زوج کان لھا من قبل۔

وفی الشامیۃ (۳۱ /۳):قوله(وأما بنت زوجة أبيه أوابنه حلال)وكذابنت ابنها بحر  قال الخير الرملي ولا تحرم بنت زوج الأم ولا أمه ولا أم زوجة الأب ولا بنتها ولا أم زوجة ابن ولا بنتها ولا زوجة الربيب ولا زوجة الراب ۔
