Family Issue

Assalam alaikum, My mother passed away last year and at that time my father promised us ( 5 siblings ) that he will stay with us here in USA . He, then said he has to go to Hyderabad, India to dispose off his lands, properties and will come back and live with us here. He went to India and immediately got re-married . Around the same time here in USA my younger brother had a dead child , his child was born dead . This left a deep animosity against our father. He did not even call us upon hearing the news because we did not specifically call to convey the news to him.

Few months down , he was unhappy with his new wife and initiated the process of divorce and one of my uncles called me saying his life is in danger from the new wife's brothers and so we agreed for him to come to USA and will sort out the issues we have. Now he is in USA but he is not making any efforts to reach out to my other siblings and my 2 elder siblings feels I should convince my father to resolve the issues with younger ones. We feel he  cannot just have normal cordial relationship with just one ignoring the rest.

My younger siblings are not ready to forgive father for breaking the trust.

Please advise,

JazakhAllah.

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق

Separation and severity is a great sin in Islam, it is necessary to restore the broken relationship as soon as possible. In particular, improving relationship with parents and treating them with kindness, humility and compassion is a source of success in both this world and the Hereafter, while separation from them is a source of humiliation and disgrace both in this world and in the Hereafter.

In their joy is the pleasure of Allah (SWT) and in their displeasure is the displeasure of Allah.

If for any reason a disagreement develops, we are not allowed to disassociate with him, rather are commanded to be kind and humble to him. A father bestows so many favors on his offspring which can neither be counted nor repaid. That's why it's important for your younger siblings to rekindle their relationship with their father and try to save their Hereafter from destructionThat's why it's important for your younger siblings to rekindle their relationship with their father and try to save their Hereafter from doom and destruction.
