Bookkeeping Firm

Salam Alaikum,

My name is Nour and I am a bookkeeper with my own firm. I recently got a client that makes and sells pork sausages. He wants to be setup in an accounting software and ongoing bookkeeping services. My question is if it is halal for me to service his business? If it isn't halal or is makrooh, is it allowed for me to contract the work out to another bookkeper while still being in contact with the client? I wouldn't make any profit from him, but I would protect the image of my business. My concern is since I already agreed to do the service, it will look bad for my business to turn him away. Please guide me on what to do.

Jazak Allahu Khair,

Nour

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

In answer to your question; If the income of your said customer is entirely haram, and he is joining you through this haraam income, then it is not permissible to expand the business with him.

But if he owns halal wealth in addition to haraam money, and he is participating with you through this combined wealth, or if he has no financial involvement in the business; only then would it be permissible for you to teach him accounting and promote the business.
