Assalamualaikum,
I was a student until last year and used to do part-time jobs but I made it a habit to consistently give out a certain fixed percentage (say 10%) of my earnings as Sadaqa or for the khidmat of Deen. No matter how less I would earn in a particular week I would keep the assigned Sadaqa separate and give it out.
I recently got a full-time job and am following the same thing that I used to do before (but now the amount I keep aside for Sadaqa is way higher) and I feel my heart is becoming a little stingy in this case, as I am also trying to save up money for an important event in my life in the coming future. I am afraid of leaving this habit of mine altogether thinking about the amount of money I am letting go.
I truly want to give out a percentage (say 10%) of my regular earnings in the path of Allah and I want to do this deed consistently until the end of my life.
I would like to seek guidance on this situation of mine as to how I can do this deed as I used to do before not thinking of it as loosing money and thinking it more as an investment for the hereafter.

The determination and courage is needed in this matter. Keep in mind the conviction in the true promises of Allaah Ta’alaa and the rewards you would get in the hereafter. Also remember that it comes in Ahadith e Mubarakah and it has also been the experience that Allaah Ta’alaa returns the Sadaqah to the slave many folds in this Duniya. Therefore, continue this action. With its acceptance your near future matter will also be resolved with easiness Inshaa Allaah. Make Dua’a to Allaah Ta’alaa, keep asking Taufeeq and acceptance, and in this regard read Fazail e Sadaqaat by Hazrat Shaikh Maulana Zakariya R.A. May Allaah T’aalaa bless you with steadfastness. Aameen
Let it be clear that if giving Sadaqah has been your habit only and you had not made it verbally compulsory on you then there is flexibility to decrease the amount or increase it as needed, otherwise not.
واللہ اعلم بالصواب
میں پچھلے سال تک پڑھ رہا تھا اور ساتھ جزوقتی ملازمت کرتا تھا، اس دوران میں نے اپنی کمائی سے ایک خاص شرح صدقہ دینے کی عادت بنالی تھی (مثلاً دس فی صد حصہ، اس سے درکنار کہ میں کیا کماتا تھا میں وہ خاص شرح ضرور ادا کرتا تھا) اب میری کل وقتی ملازمت ہوگئی ہے اور اتتے ہی فیصد صدقہ نکالنے (چونکہ اب یہ دس فی صد کافی بڑی رقم بنتی ہے) میں مجھے کنجوسی محسوس ہورہی ہے کیونکہ اب مجھے زیادہ رقم نکالنی پڑتی ہے اور اس وقت میں عنقریب مستقبل میں پیش آنے والے ایک اہم کام کے لیے پیسے جمع کررہا ہوں، جتنے پیسے اس وقت میں صدقے کی مد میں خرچ کررہا ہوں اس سے مجھے خدشہ ہے کہ کہیں میں اپنی اس عادت کو بالکل ترک نہ کردوں ۔
حقیقتاً میں چاہتا ہوں کہ اپنی کمائی میں سے مقرر شرح فیصد اللہ کی راہ میں مرتے دم تک دیتا رہوں ، میں اس سلسلے میں رہنمائی چاہتا ہوں کہ میں کیسے اپنے اس عمل کو پہلے کی طرح ایسے ہی کرتا رہوں کہ مجھے پیسے ضائع ہوجانے کا خیال نہ آئے بلکہ میں اسے آخرت کی سرمایہ کاری سمجھو۔

اس معاملہ میں ہمت اور حوصلہ کی ضرورت ہے،اللہ رب العزت کے سچے وعدوں کایقین اور آخرت میں ملنے والے انعام واکرام کا استحضار رکھیں،اور یہ بھی یاد رکھیں کہ احادیث مبارکہ میں یہ مضمون ملتا ہے اور تجربہ بھی رہا ہے کہ صدقہ کو اللہ تعالی دنیا میں ہی اضافہ کے ساتھ بندہ کو لوٹا دیتے ہیں اس لئے اس عمل کو جاری رکھیے، اسی کی قبولیت کے ساتھ آپ کے مستقبل کا کام بھی آسانی سے انشاء اللہ تعالی حل ہوجائے گا،اللہ سے دعاء کیجیے ،توفیق اور قبولیت کی درخواست کرتے رہیے،اور اس سلسلہ حضرت شیخ الحدیث مولانا زکریا رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کی فضائل صدقات پڑھیے اللہ پاک آپ کو استقامت نصیب فرمائے آمین۔
(واضح رہےکہ اگر آپ کی یہ صرف عادت رہی ہے اورآپ نے زبانی طور پر اس کو اپنے اوپرلازم نہیں کیا تھا تو ضرورت کے اعتبار سے کمی بیشی کی گنجائش ہے ورنہ نہیں)
