Vitro Fertilization Treatment

Asalamalikum,

The reason I want you to do fatwa is because I want to know if we should go for  In Vitro Fertilization yes or no? My doctor said it will be useless because we both are fine. We are suffering from undefined infertility. It has been like 8 years of our wedding. I never conceived in these 8 years. Unbearable mental stress is silently killing us. We are helpless.  Please make dua for us.

Istikharais not performed in Shar‘ai masa‘il(i.e. matters where Shari‘ah has provided ruling) relating to haram and halal(i.e. permissibility and impermissibility). Istikhara is performed for mattes where one has confusion about benefits or disadvantages of an action. As per the situation described in your question, it is impermissible to do so according to the Shar‘ai ruling.
