Assalamoalykum Dear Mufti Sahab,
In the current pandemic, is it allowed to pray eid prayer with own family members? If yes, what is the minimum number of musalli required? whether eid khutbah is necessary?

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق
Due to the Covid-19, it is allowed to pray Eid at home. Khutbah is not necessary, it is a “sunnah”.
For Eid prayer, three persons in addition to the imam are required.
However, some scholars are of the opinion that even one follower with imam is acceptable.
It is however mentioned in books of fatawa and in specific the fatawa issued by learned scholars of Deoband, who are known for their extra precaution, recommend having at least three followers in addition to Imam, to validate Eid congregational prayer, similar to the Friday prayer.
