i’m living an awning a home in Chicago but I spent 3 to 4 days a week in another city in West Coast. I normally go there on Monday and come back on Thursday. I’m renting a room there for the last few months. I never stayed there more than 3 to 4 days a week, but I pretty much go there every week. Can I do Qassr or should I pray the full namaz?

In the present case, if you travel from your city for a Shar‘i distance (i.e., 48 miles or more) and intend to stay for less than 15 days, then the rulings of shortening the prayer (qasr) will apply.
However, if the journey is not of Shar‘i distance, or if you intend to stay for 15 days or more, then qasr will not be permissible.
Therefore, in the present case, since the stay is less than 15 days, the rules of qasr will apply—provided that the distance from Chicago to the destination city is indeed equal to the Shar‘i distance (48 miles or more).
صورت مسئولہ میں اگر آپ اپنے شہرسے مسافت شرعی کے بقدر یعنی ۴۸ میل سفر کرتے ہیں اور ۱۵ دن سے کم قیام کی نیت کرتے ہیں کرتےہیں تو قصر کے احکامات جاری ہوں گےالبتہ گر مسافت شرعی نہ ہو یا ۱۵ دن یا اس سے زیادہ قیام کی نیت ہو تو قصر جائز نہیں، لہذا صورت مسؤلہ میں چونکہ قیام ۱۵ دن سے کم ہے تو قصر کے احکام جاری ہوں گے بشرطیکہ شکاگو سے اس شہر تک مسافت شرعی ہوجہاں آپ سفر کرتے ہیں۔
فی الشامی: "(من خرج من عمارة موضع إقامته) من جانب خروجه وإن لم يجاوز من الجانب الآخر. وفي الخانية: إن كان بين الفناء والمصر أقل من غلوة وليس بينهما مزرعة يشترط مجاوزته وإلا فلا (قاصدا) ولو كافرا، ومن طاف الدنيا بلا قصد لم يقصر (مسيرة ثلاثة أيام ولياليها) من أقصر أيام السنة."
