Assalamualaikum,
What was the 'amal of the Salaf Saliheen during the lunar eclipse.
Should we offer the eclipse prayer at home or in the masjid and do 'itekaf in the masjid till the lunar eclipse ends or it is not necessary.

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق
The Salaat at the time of Moon Eclipse (صلوة الخسوف) is مستحب (Preferred), however, to pray this Salaat with Jamaat is not مسنون (according to Sunnat), all people will pray this Salaat individually and اعتکاف (seclution) or presence in the Masjid is not necessary either. Men and women staying at homes having the realization of the Fear of Allaah T’alaa should busy themselves in giving charity, praying Salaat, making Du’aas, and seeking forgiveness till the end of the moon eclipse.
يصلون ركعتين في خسوف القمر وحدانا، هكذا في محيط السرخسي، {فتاوی ہندیہ: الصَّلَاةُ فِي خُسُوفِ الْقَمَرِ}۔

السلام علیکم
سلف صالحین کا چاند گرہن کے دوران کیا عمل تھا۔ کیا ہمیں گرہن کی نماز گھر میں پڑھنی چاہیے یا مسجد میں ،اور مسجد میں چاند گرہن ختم ہونے تک اعتکاف کرنا چاہیے،یا یہ ضروری نہیں ہے۔

چاند گہن کی نماز مستحب ہے، البتہ چاند گہن میں نماز با جماعت مسنون نہیں ہے،سب لوگ تنہا تنہا پڑھیں گے، اور مسجد میں اعتکاف یا حاضری بھی ضروری نہیں ہے۔گھروں ہی میں رہ کر مرد وں اور عورتوں کو چاند گہن کے ختم تک عاجزی وانکساری کے ساتھ خوف خدا کا استحضار کرتے ہوئےخیرات ،نماز، دعا اور استغفار میں رہنا چاہیے۔
