The sighting of the Hilaal has become a recurring problem; it causes not only a loss of respect and creditability towards our religious elders (Ulema-e-Deen), but also creates a rift and division among the general Muslim population (Ummah).

The fact is that Moonsighting turns into a fiasco every time and this situation is truly painful for all the members of the Muslim community. There is however a very simple and in fact the only solution, which is “Sighting of the moon according to the teachings of Islamic Shariah”.

Alhumdulillah, Rahmat-e-Alam Foundation makes announcements for the beginning and ending of each Islamic lunar months by using proper Sharia compliant moon sighting methods, in coordination with Central Hilal Committee, not only at the time of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha, but for all other months of the lunar (Hijrah) Calendar.

In coordination with Central Hilal Committee essential contacts within North America have been established accross sub-committees in 23 states of United States of America, who all work along with each other and make a joint decision about the sighting of the Hilaal.
