Artificial Insemination

Can a married couple choose to opt for artificial insemination to have children if it is a personal preference as opposed to a necessity? For example, if the couple has no fertility issues and would be able to have children through traditional intercourse but chooses to wait a few years before having children, and the woman decides to freeze her eggs to perform IVF after she is no longer able to have children naturally.
